Writing in the Cafe
As part of the Great NanoWriMo Experiment, Sunday Morning I actually went to our Local B&N and at in the cafe and wrote on the laptop. First time ever. Started out feeling like the biggest jerk in the land- “Stand Back everyone! let the Artist create!”
But you know what? It actually works.
I Didn’t have to listen with one ear for the family who was “Letting me type.” Never Write. Always just type.
With limited connectivity, I was forced to WRITE, Not browse. With No CDs on hand I was Forced to WRITE, Not play.
I went early Sunday, before the crowds got too big, an managed to get nearly 1000 words in two hours. Some of them will probably end up being OK too.
So, anyway, I’m going to try it again and see how it goes. And maybe this time I won’t feel like as big a schmuck.
