Reuters has posted a time line on how the Health Care legislation will affect you in the near future.

Also, The New York Times has a nifty Infographic on how the HealthCare Reform Act changes will affect you, and you can play a game of what if.

As near as I can tell at this early date, here’s how it will affect writers and other Independent Contractors. Let me know where I’m wrong:

• Right now, dropping you when you get sick and denying your kids for Pre-existing conditions go away and your kids can remain under your insurance until 26.
• Subsidies and Tax credits kick in to help pay for the insurance you’ll be needing. Assume a slight rise in costs as Insurers take on more costs.
• If you are uninsured and have a pre-existing, you can apply to a special program for insurance until the Exchanges kick in.
• PCPs and General Surgeons get a 10% Bonus in 2011 for general care.
• Way in 2014, State Exchanges for Individuals kick in, and you can’t be excluded for pre-existing. Fines for Employers and Self-employed who don’t have insurance begin.
