Recently saw “Zone One” by Colson Whitehead featured on NPR. Thought you might like it. A depopulated Manhattan. And yeah, sure, the central metaphor has been cliche since the original DotD. Not Really a big fan of “psychology” in writing books. But in The Story Book: A Writer’s Guide to Story Development, Principles, Problem-solving and Marketing David Baboulene does a good job of explaining how subtest works and how to best incorporate multiple layers of meaning into your writing. Here’s the Table of contents and a sample of the first chapter. Pay attention to the charts. I kinda like them.
