Coming Soon: Teddy Roosevelt and the Lost World
The Year is 1886. Young Theodore Roosevelt finds himself a cattleman in a west once ruled by great herds of dinosaurs. But there is a monster loose in the Yellowstone Caldera, one of the last of the fearsome carnivores. Teddy mounts an expedition to rid the land of this great beast, and confronts his own past and, perhaps, his great destiny in this altered landscape.

Kill Your Babies: Should I Cut this Prologue Out?
Here’s a little scene-setting prologue I’ve been waffling on. Obviously it needs some work ( Ugh. Passive tense. It’s.) but I think it’s just going out the window. It doesn’t do anything in the book at all. If it gets cut, that’s the three out of the first five chapters I’ve cut as throat clearing. The Bull Torosaur trotted along the creek bank and up over the edge to the plains. The wind stung his eyes. He lifted its snout to sniff the …

The Valley of Gwangi: Full Video from DailyMotion
This great Harryhausen movie was an Inspiration for my current work in progress. I’ve did a quick search to see just how much I’ve “Borrowed” from it. Result? Not much. There’s a lot more Circus than I remembered, and a lot more standing around waiting for the rear projection to work. But it does have some nive Harryhausen creatures ( Even if Gwangi has a personality disorder: Is he a Tyrannosaur or an Allosaur?) Enjoy. The Valley of Gwangi Uploaded …

Two Weeks? Maybe? Could it be True?
Image via Wikipedia At work last week, I was talking to a friend who’s been following the progress of my Work in Progress since before NanoWriMo. She mentioned that, for as long as she knew me, she had never seen me as excited or happy to be actually writing and working on a project. So, after a holiday season in which I didn’t really get a lot of writing done, I decided to take a look at “Teddy Roosevelt and …

Failing Nanowrimo: Winning the Book
Image via Wikipedia I failed at nano. Failed miserably and hard. But I’m still plugging away at the book, and actually think it’s stronger because of it. Look, it’s 2:00 Am here, and I;m up typing. Forget getting 2,000 words a day. I’m lucky to get 200 in. But I’m still enthused about the book, and the few thousand words I managed to eke out in November and December still make sense. The structure and plotting work I did in …
